Photo's I've taken over the summer

Just a few various photo's of woods around where I live, I like these photos as I tried to take them with a childhood innocence about them such as the tree photographs looking straight up from the floor and getting my camera close into tree roots almost as if looking down rabbit holes and I feel a general sense of innocence and adventure, two things I want to create the essence of in my pieces.

Another photograph I took at the beach I like the way as the waves have pulled back out it has created these thin, intricate lines, it reminds me of synapses in the brain and this can relate heavily into my theme of mental illnesses, so this is an idea I will definitely store for later and possibly use some in some form of my work to add little intricate detailing.

I love this piece by Bram Bogart. Its a highly conceptual piece of artwork and I love the simplicity behind what is actually done but it has such a deep meaning and can be taken in many ways. Also, me being a textural artist, I love using wacky and weird materials to create texture that I feel conveys emotions and I feel Bogart wanted to do the same here and I feel that my artwork in this personal investigation will steer towards being extremely abstract and highly conceptual art.

I also love this piece of artwork due to the use of colour in it and again this piece could be taken as a conceptual piece of artwork and I feel that this main colour scheme of blue could represent the feeling of sadness and being overwhelmed and I feel that, that small patch of pink/red towards the upper left centre of the piece could perhaps represent the feeling of anger that came before and triggered all this unhappiness in this piece. Unfortuantly I forgot to take a picture of the name of the artist that created this piece so I cannot give them credit or do more research on there other work.

I also love these pieces by Gerhard Ritcher again staying quite abstract similar to how I believe my personal investigation will go, the main thing I love about these piece are despite the main colour being grey the subtle hints of colour again that could be there to perceive as emotions or maybe something else entirely that is what I love the most is that there is no clear cut answer this type of artwork is all down to your personal opinion and out view on life.

This artist was a massive find for me when I went to the Tate over the summer as it isn't my exact artist I'd picked however the artist I'd picked Raymond Hains actually worked with Jacques Villegle on this particular piece so it allowed me to gain insight into how two artists work that have a very similar art style and both helped with significant contributions to the French Nouveau Realisme. Again I love this piece because of the amount of texture and while I am not a massive fan of the actual poster colours being used as I feel it looks very overcrowded, however it could also be said that this is supposed to be overcrowded and overwhelming similar to how you feel when you suffer with a mental illness.
