Teenage Years: Through the Mind of the Depressed

This series of photographs I have taken were all taken down a park that is by where I live and I decided that due to my theme being about depression, I would go out and see if I could find anything to take photographs off as inspiration for my Art 3 personal investigation. After wandering around a bit I started to find numerous wrappers for products that are commonly abused by people that suffer with depression. The reason I like this set of photographs is because of the reason behind them. I carefully positioned the camera so that key noticeable things on these products would stand out but are still covered up as in essence of hiding them. Similar to how a person with depression would hide themselves away from the world and not tell anybody about their problems. I also like the idea that these are photos of adult things that have an age restriction on them meaning they are only for adults but the location of these photos of them being taken at a park is a massive juxtapose to the actual childlike instinct of the park comparative to the adult items in the photos.
